Career Pathways Program

Help your high school students explore career pathways.

Get expertise and support as you design and implement a workforce exploration program for your high school students. A Sourcewell career consultant works closely with you to create outcome-based curriculums, hands-on activities, and business partnerships for students interested in three overarching career categories. Each category can have as many focused pathways as your school wants or needs.

Students take classes at your school, getting high school, and, in some cases, college credit. They can also gain work experience and pursue industry licenses, endorsements, or certifications.

This program is new for 2021-22 and combines the efficiencies and effective practices of two former regional programs that pioneered workforce education in our region: Bridges Career Academies & Workplace Connections and Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program.

Career Pathways Program career categories

You will work with your assigned career consultant to develop as many focused pathways as your school wants or needs within these three overarching categories:

  • Business, Management, Administration, Arts, Communications, and Information Systems

  • Health Science and Human Services

  • Agriculture, Food, Manufacturing, Construction, Engineering, and Science (STEM)

Career Pathways Seminar

The Career Pathways Seminar supports school districts in building a plan for their students to have a unique and exciting career path. The seminar allows administrators, educators, counselors, higher education, and area businesses to collaborate on developing, refining, and implementing the components of the Career Pathways Program.
